AMARÉ in Latin means “To Love”

Last Updated: April 14, 2024

Time and time again, we have been saying that being a vegan is much more than just a diet, it’s a lifestyle. Though different for each one, love for animals and compassion for the planet tops the reasons for switching to this lifestyle, and Aum Nanavati is an advocate for both. We featured her as the vegan-prenuer in our April issue, and now we are putting AMARÉ, her vegan bag company, under the spotlight.

AMARÉ in Latin means “To Love”

To love animals, love our planet, and love ourselves.

We aim to create awareness about endangered and ill-treated animals. All our products are handcrafted by artisans in Italy using the most innovative plant-based materials, which are eco-friendly and cruelty-free. By keeping our brand aesthetics minimal, we aim to create a large impact. We use natural diamonds and gemstones as subtle additions to our designs.

Our products are made from Nopal cactus, a highly sustainable and environmentally friendly organic material. This vegan leather is PVC FREE, 100% organic, and free from pesticides and herbicides. Using only rainwater for harvesting, the plant is left undamaged to grow the next yield. Leaves are sun-dried to further reduce energy consumption. Compared to a certain animal and synthetic leather, cactus leather is elastic and breathable.

We use recycled paper at every step of the way – to create our beautiful boxes, packaging tissue, invoices, shipping labels, and more. Our dust bags are reusable and 100% organic. It is our responsibility to take into consideration the future of our planet when designing & developing our products. This includes our packaging!

Giving back is an integral part of what fuels us to work harder and better. For every product sold, we donate a portion of our sales to various animal welfare organizations that help free animals in captivity and protect endangered species. We help support thousands of underprivileged children in India who do not have necessities such as clothes, food, and clean water. These commitments stand whether we make a profit or not.

Founder Aum Nanavati is an animal lover with a passion for dance and yoga. Having worked with animals, she aims to build a kinder and more sustainable world. She has crafted Amaré to be everything she believes in.
