Veganism, once considered a following by only a few, has now taken over the world. As consumers become more concerned about sustainable living, they are increasingly conscious of the ingredients and production methods behind their favorite products - including makeup. Today’s consumers have access to a lot of information and have a wide variety of sellers to select from as well as reviews when they are deciding to buy.
The beauty industry has felt the effects of this movement over the last few years as more environmentally conscious consumers seek out sustainable choices and cruelty-free products.

Millennials play a huge part in the market accounting for two-thirds of global buying power. The increase in demand for cruel-free products is a reflection over their concerns on how we make our products and what they are composed of. Their movement and product selection is a representation of their concerns over animal cruelty, carbon emissions and the pressure we put on the planet’s vanishing natural resources.
Conscious consumerism is driving the demand for all things vegan and it’s doesn’t stop at millennials; the majority of other consumers are increasingly taking into consideration animal rights and the safety of ingredients before making a purchase.
Animal cruelty is often enough reason not to buy a certain product and artificial substitutes are regarded as unhealthy or even toxic in the eyes of most customers. Today’s consumer is rejecting products with unrecognizable chemicals and toxins and instead is opting for natural-based products.
