High End Vegan Fashion

High End Vegan Fashion - Leafy Souls Vegan Blog Post

The more people go vegan, the more fashion is changing and the elite are going organic. And for those who want to skip recycled fashion altogether, there are high-end brands that paving the way forward to a more sustainable fashion future.

Thought

The first clothing was simple – a capsule collection of men’s shirts and beachwear made of sustainable ramie and hemp. The duo’s honest, down-to-earth personalities and sustainable sourcing was refreshing.

In 2002 John took the fledgling brand to the UK. He opened pop-up shops on London’s famous Portobello Road and at the Camden Lock market. With countless phone calls and hard work, a flurry of independent boutiques soon stocked the growing collection.

The thought is a natural clothing company with a simple philosophy—to design and make beautiful, timeless fashion while caring for our environment. They sell women's and men's organic cotton clothing, bamboo clothing, and hemp clothing; and the brand has developed long-lasting relationships with their factories and suppliers. Thought ensures ethical working conditions and fair wages for their employees.

Komodo

Komodo has been a pioneer brand, promoting the use and development of Organic Cotton, Hemp, Bamboo, Tencel and other natural fibers since the early 90s. Equally important was the welfare of the suppliers and people who work in the small factory units that make our clothes.

Komodo is all about sustainable fashion. This UK-based ethical clothing company grew out of an epic travel adventure story back in 1988 and has led the way as a pioneer brand in the use and development of organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, Tencel, and other natural fibers.

They trade fairly with factories in Nepal, China, and Indonesia.  The designers visit regularly and work closely with the myriad of talented people who bring their ideas to life. The clothes we produce are high quality, easy fitting wardrobe essentials, that are sure to become firm favorites you will want to wear again and again and again.

Along the way, they have supported numerous environmental and social projects at home and in the countries where they manufacture. From sheltering London's homeless to building schools high in the Himalayas and reforestation programs on the side of volcanos.

Komodo is GOTS certified and proud to be a partner brand of the Ethical Fashion Forum

Kuma Design

Their entire product range is mostly handmade with love and therefore each product is unique and one-of-a-kind. They all have a story to tell if you let them spread their wings and shine with you.

The passionate vision of Mari Ojasaar, Kuma Design provides wonderful, sustainable and delightfully colorful vegan leather accessories. Their vegan leather isn’t just any vegan leather, it’s ‘STANDARD’ 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. This is important, as the STANDARD 100 certification by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. This ensures the leather is sustainable to the environment.

They believe that fast fashion doesn’t cater for sustainability and creative artistry. To help reduce the impact fast-fashion has on the industry, Kuma’s leather is also recycled, too. This is helping to reduce their products’ carbon footprint, while also reducing the need to produce new leather entirely.

Kuma’s inspiration comes from Mother Nature herself, which is why their priority is to take care of Mother Nature as much as possible. This is why they’re so conscious about using high-quality and sustainable vegan leathers and take a handcrafted approach to avoid wastage, ensuring a clean and tidy production process that ensures their products are as sustainable as they are stylish.
