Clothing Brands for Vegans-Leafy Souls Vegan Blog Post

Vegan clothing—it's a hot topic, but what does it evenmean? Basically: Vegan clothing enthusiasts don't wear any kind of clothing items that contain leather or animal skin, wool or animal hair, or fur, down, silk, or any other material that comes from or is tested on animals. Cotton, polyester, nylon, linen, and hemp are just a few examples of vegan materials. Seem difficult to keep track? Read our post on how to tell if an item is vegan?

Stella McCartney

Although it is not the cheapest, this brand is at the forefront of sustainable fashion and cruelty-free products. On the website, there is a whole page dedicated to sustainability, materials used and the research being done for leather alternatives.
Since 2013, they have been using alter-nappa for our shoes and bags. This breakthrough material is made from polyester and polyurethane and has a recycled polyester backing. This reduces the amount of petroleum we use in their products. And the alter-nappa coating is made with over 50% vegetable oil, a renewable, natural resource. They are also investigating lab-created leather.

In The Soulshine

This company’s kindness and compassion don't stop at animals. It includes people too. people too. Garments are manufactured in a small production house in Bali, Indonesia. Employees are paid on a per-piece basis which gives them the opportunity for increased pay of up to 40% above the minimum wage.

Their first Organic Cotton range is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) They are currently phasing out standard cotton and replace all products with Organic Cotton. Also, they no longer package our products in plastic and have replaced plastic with biodegradable bags. Their clothing is vegan and cruelty-free and recently they made a special, limited edition t-shirt supported by celebrities across the globe.

Leafy Souls

Leafy Souls was founded with a simple vision: to bring morality back to humanity, so that we can create a compassionate and sustainable future. Both the founders, Henry & Tanveer, are vegan and strongly resonate with the concept of kindness & compassion over convenience & tradition. They plan to achieve this goal by creating a place for people that makes it easy to buy vegan, cruelty-free & ethical products in general.

They work with very talented designers to create stunning designs for shirts, hoodies and more that people will love wearing to spread the message of veganism. In addition, a percentage of the profit goes to one of two organizations that they support: Erdlingshof in Germany and Animal Place in California.

Unicorn Goods

Unicorn Goods is a fantastic website for anyone looking to sell their vegan products on a worldwide, recognized online platform. Their goal is to get vegans to support your brand as well as provide a platform for buyers. Instead of buyers having to google, research and double-check if a brand is truly vegan, Unicorn Goods does all that work for you and provides a place where you can search through many different products.

Organizers of the Best Vegan Awards, Unicorn Goods are a PETA approved vegan vendor. This means that they do not knowingly list products that contain animal products. They have high standards of animal rights, human rights, and sustainability. They also donate 1% of the profits to pro-animal organizations.

Unreal Fur

For those who love to rock a fur coat, but are totally against the manufacturing process, Unreal Fur is the store for you. You can find all types of coats designed to look just like the real thing. Beaver, minx, fox - you name it. And it is all cruelty-free. The store gives people the opportunity to dress stylishly and luxuriously without harming any animals.

Their gorgeous, on-trend jackets put them at the front of the "faux-volution". UF is transforming fur to meet our needs today and tomorrow. The brand even recognizes that although faux fur is ethical, there is generally an issue with its sustainability. Although they aren't there yet, UF is actively searching for and testing sustainable fibers to use in production. The brand does make an effort to reduce waste by repurposing offcuts for their Mini-Me and Accessory lines.
